Go on! Expose Yourself with Open Shelving

Gone are the days of shoving all of your kitchen equipment, supplies and cooking necessities behind closed doors. For about 3 years now, I have seen a growing trend of open shelves, pantries and display cases. With stores like Target, Sur La Table and Crate and Barrel creating sophisticated or fun objects for the kitchen, the every day cook can proudly display their wares and knickknack proudly.

With this trend we are letting go of the idea that in order to maintain a sense of organization that our stuff needs to be hidden from all who enter our kitchen domain. The opposite is true, now can we easily get access our items necessary to whip up the most delicious dish for our family or guests.
